Software Developer Engineer (SDE) - 1
Join TradeVistar as an SDE-1 and build features for India's B2B marketplace using TypeScript, Next.js and NestJS. You will work with a small engineering team, ship real features to production and grow quickly.
About the role
TradeVistar is a growing B2B marketplace where thousands of buyers and sellers trade in bulk. As a Software Development Engineer (SDE-1) you will design, build and ship features across our web apps and backend APIs.
You will work closely with the product and engineering team, take ownership of small to medium features from idea to production, and learn how a real marketplace runs at scale.
What you will do: - Build and improve features in our Next.js web apps and NestJS APIs - Write clean, tested and maintainable TypeScript code - Design and query PostgreSQL databases through Prisma - Integrate payments, shipping and notification services - Find and fix bugs, and improve speed and reliability - Review code with teammates and share what you learn
What we are looking for
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, IT or a related field (or equivalent practical skills)
- 0 to 2 years of experience building web applications
- Good knowledge of JavaScript or TypeScript
- Hands-on experience with React or Next.js
- Basic experience with Node.js (NestJS or Express is a plus)
- Understanding of REST APIs and SQL databases (PostgreSQL preferred)
- Familiarity with Git and basic debugging skills
- Strong problem solving skills and willingness to learn
- Good communication and ability to work in a team
Good to have: - Experience with Prisma, Tailwind CSS or Redis - A project, GitHub profile or portfolio we can look at
